LaGuardia Airport — 3D Scanning & Light-Gauge Framing
UrbanTech used repeated 3D scans during light-gauge metal framing design to reflect actual site conditions and coordinate framing around utilities, pipes, ductwork, and structural members.

Experience
What the work demonstrates
At LaGuardia Airport, UrbanTech performed repeated 3D scans during the design of light-gauge metal framing to document actual site conditions. Scan information informed framing layouts coordinated around utilities, pipes, ductwork, and existing structural members. The supplied design models, drawings, and field photographs illustrate ceiling, soffit, and vestibule enclosure framing developed to fit within these constraints. This work demonstrates how reality capture can inform engineering design: using field information to understand the available space and develop framing that accommodates the conditions on site.
